Half the calls here start on a ramp. I-77 runs the length of the city, and the Arlington Road and Massillon Road interchanges are where it goes sideways — merge-speed fender benders, a car that quits in the lane, blown tires. We work those shoulders enough to know which ones give you room to set up.
Freight is its own thing. CAK and the distribution yards around it keep box trucks moving on both corridors all day, and a loaded one isn't a jump-and-go. The subdivisions are quieter work: three cars in a driveway, keys locked in a running SUV, a battery dead in an attached garage.
Working the Summit–Stark seam
I broke down on I-77 near Arlington Road. Where do I wait?
Get it past the white line if it still rolls, out the passenger side, behind the guardrail and uphill of the car. Tell dispatch which direction you're facing — northbound and southbound are different approaches there.
I'm closer to North Canton or Uniontown. Do you still come?
Yes. Calls out here spill across the county line every week, so those runs are normal for us.
